Media Policy

The NERLSCD Meeting Media Policy applies to both traditional media (print, broadcast and web based) and new social media tools (blogs, Twitter, etc.).  This policy applies to both accredited  journalists who are registered for the meeting and to all other meeting attendees:
  1. Presenters have the final say on whether the content of their presentations can be reported beyond the conference and can opt-out on anyone reporting on all or any portion of their presentations.  Session organizers or individual presenters will state at the beginning of each presentation if they do not give permission for any or all parts of the presentation to be reported outside of the conference, including by blogging or tweeting.  This policy applies to all oral presentations, including presentations during the keynote and plenary sessions, discussion panels and technical workshops.
  2. To facilitate free and uninhibited discussions at the meeting, consent of individual attendees in the audience who participate in discussions during the panels and workshops should be obtained before blogging or tweeting or otherwise publicly reporting on their identity or their statements.
  3. Bloggers should let the meeting  organizing committee know well in advance of the meeting that they plan on blogging the conference.  This will allow the organizing committee to aggregate all the blogs that are made about the meeting and to pass this information to the meeting attendees, which will facilitate the blogs being read and also will help presenters contact bloggers if they feel there is a need to correct content.
  4. Designated official meeting photographers will be at the meeting to photograph meeting presentations and events.  Photography of the content of presentations by meeting attendees is strictly prohibited without the express consent of  the presenter.  This includes photography of posters and of slides projected during oral presentations.
Privacy Policy

Names and contact information of registrants will be shared with registrants and sponsors.
